Itinerary

Dar Es Salaam Day Tour.
  • Meet with our Staff/guide at 08:00 am from your Hotel/residence after breakfast and take you to Kivukoni(Fish market) the most chaotic places in Dar es salaam where frantic trading more typical of wall street brokers enacted over the fish from the Indian ocean, People have brightly dressed as the fish they come to buy, visit the market and pick up every thing from tuna, king fish, octopus, calamari, prawn, lobster, squid and much more, at market while visit the shops around looking at the Indian ocean products such the different color of sea shells and others including the squidโ€™s tail. After leaving the Kivukoni Fish Market, heading to Ocean Road Hospital(the Old German building that was once their research centre), where Dr. Korch did his study about Malaria, currently called the Cancer Hospital.After that, you visit the Botanical Garden in the city centre, which was established a hundred years ago, to see the plants from Asia brought by the Arabs and Germans.Enjoy the local nature and plants; you can observe over 600 plant species, including rare and endangered ones such as the scarlet flame tree, the cycad, and the jacaranda. Opposite the botanical garden, Karimjee Hall, you will be able to see the fantastic architecture while your guide explains the history behind the building.
  • Next you will visit the National Museum, a home to many historical treasures with wide variety of exhibit including archeological findings, rock paintings, ancient foot prints, the remains of first humans and more. Drive to Mwenge Carvers Market is made up of small shops with stands displaying carvings of different kinds, traditional dresses, tingatinga paints, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, traditional music while dancing and more. You will be able to browse the stalls, just chat with the carvers and buy the souvenirs if you wish.
  • At noon, Great time in Makumbusho Village Museum showcasing the diverse heritage of Tanzania through a collection of traditional huts representing various ethnic groups from across the nation. As you stroll through the lush grounds, you will encounter authentic reproductions of these structures, providing insight into the architectural styles and cultural practices of Tanzania’s indigenous communities. Hot ethnic lunch will be taken here at the restaurant after observing the traditional dance and storytelling. Simply looking to explore the beauty of Tanzanian culture, this museum provides an enriching experience that will leave a lasting impression. Don’t miss the chance to visit this gem in Dar es Salaam, where every corner tells a story and every performance invites you to participate in the celebration of Tanzanian heritage.
  • Afterwards, leisurely drive through the Mnazi Mmoja Garden, another exciting, vibrant place to visit with strong historical significance. You will be able to see the Uhuru torch(Mwenge), which was placed here on 9th December 1961 to celebrate Tanzania’s independence from the British. Then continue to St Joseph Cathedral Roman Church, which was built by the Germans in 1896, located along Sokoine Drive, facing the harbour and close to White Father House, is named after the White Fathers, as the building has been the seat of their mission since 1922.
  • You will also visit Samora Avenue to see and learn about the historical Askari Monumentย  Statue, which was built by the British after Second World War, K.A.R(King African Riffles) and proceed to the beautifulย  Azania Front Lutheran Cathedral Church Kivukoni Front road, close to water front of the Indian Ocean and facing the harbour to add to the splendid view of the city centre of Dar es Salaam. It is a Christian church under the Eastern and Coastal Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania. Constructed in Gothic style by German missionaries between 1899 and 1902, and watch the mechanical Roman watch on the tower, which never uses any power. After the above tour, we will drive you back to the Hotel/residence
