Tarangire National Park

Tarangire ranks as the 6th largest national park in Tanzania, covering over 2,600 km² of diverse landscapes. It is most famous for its massive herds of elephants, iconic baobab trees, and a mini wildlife migration during the dry season, when up to 250,000 animals flood into the park in search of water from the Tarangire River.

Ngorongoro Crater

One of Africa’s most stunning natural wonders, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken, unflooded caldera in the world. With a diameter of 16–19 km and crater walls rising to 610 meters, it encloses a rich ecosystem home to over 26,000 animals, including the Big Five. The crater floor is a mosaic of grasslands, swamps, acacia woodlands, and soda lakes. You’ll explore key spots like:

● Gorigor & Mandusi Swamps – sanctuaries for hippos, elephants, and lions

● Lerai Forest – habitat for monkeys, leopards, and Fischer’s lovebirds

● Hippo Pool – a picnic stop with entertaining views of chortling hippos

● Open plains teeming with zebra, wildebeest, hyenas, eland, and more

● 07:30 AM – Meet your professional driver/guide for a short trip briefing. Depart with a packed lunch for a scenic 188 km drive to Tarangire National Park.

● Begin your game drive upon arrival. Explore seasonal swamps, savannah grasslands, and the wildlife-rich Tarangire River corridor.

● Animals you’re likely to encounter include:

○ Lions, leopards, and cheetahs

○ Zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, buffalo

● Early morning – After breakfast, depart from Karatu toward the Ngorongoro Crater. Stop at the crater rim viewpoint to admire its vast beauty and hear a geological briefing from your guide.

● Descend 600 meters into the crater for a half-day game drive. This is one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five:

○ Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, Elephants, and the rare Black Rhino

● Enjoy your picnic lunch at the Gorigor Hippo Pool, a peaceful spot to relax and stretch your legs as hippos entertain in the water.

● Later in the afternoon, return to Arusha (approx. 190 km) and drop-off at your hotel or preferred location.
